One month from today, Ontario voters go to the polls in the provincial election. Monday evening from 6-8pm, the main party leaders go head to head in the first televised debate of the Ontario election campaign.

Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne, Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford and NDP Leader Andrea Horwath will go face to face on the big issues.

The race officially begins on Wednesday, although the three main parties have been unofficially campaigning for weeks.

There’s a brand new opinion poll out on the morning of the first big debate. Doug Ford continues to lead, but by a smaller margin and Andrea Horwath is solidly in second place.

The survey by Pollara Strategic Insights gives the Ford PC’s 40 percent voter support, Horvath’s New Democrats are at 30 percent with the Wynne Liberals at 23 percent.
