Toronto Police are expected to provide an update on the case against alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur at a news conference at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.

It’s been more than a month since investigators took the rare step of releasing a photograph of an alleged McArthur victim in hopes that someone could identify him.

Detective Sergeant Hank Idsinga says the image has now been cleaned up, and data from the photo released on the Toronto Police website shows it was altered using photoshopping tools to erase smudged parts of the image.

66 year old Bruce McArthur, a Toronto landscaper, was arrested on January 18th and is charged with six counts of first degree murder in connection with the deaths and disappearances of men who had connections to Toronto’s gay village.

McArthur is scheduled to make another court appearance Wednesday morning.
