A Parliamentary sleepover’s come to an end.
Drowsy members pulled an all-nighter…spending over 20 hours voting on hundreds of minor motions – in a procedural stunt aimed at trying to make the government give details – about how a convicted attempted murderer got into a Justin Trudeau event in India.
The Opposition demanded that the prime minsiter’s national security adviser testify at a committee about the prime minister’s trouble-plagued trip last month – but the Liberals voted down the motion.
Daniel Jean had suggested to reporters that factions in the Indian government had sabotaged the prime minister’s visit – by allowing former Sikh separatist Jaspal Atwal to attend an event.
