Toronto Police have launched an internal investigation into why alleged serial killer Bruce McArthur was interviewed by police in 2014 and then let go.
A report in the Toronto Star suggests McArthur was brought in for questioning in a separate incident, unrelated to missing men from Toronto’s gay village.  This occured after the closure of Project Houston, which investigated three missing people and well before project Prism was launched in 2017, which culminated in McArthur’s arrest in January.
The 66-year old Toronto landscaper is facing six charges of first degree murder in the deaths of men who began disappearing from the Toronto’s Church and Wellesley area in 2010.
On Monday, police revealed they’ve recovered remains from a 7th person in planters they seized from a Leaside property where McArthur did landscaping work and stored some equipment.  They also released a photo of an unidentified man they believe to be a seventh victim.
