A tech war is brewing – with BlackBerry firing the first shot.

Blackberry says it’s taking Facebook to court in the U.S. – over an alleged infringement over its intellectual property.

A company statement says Blackberry had tried for several years to resolve the claim through dialogue with Facebook – but has decided to pursue legal remedies –  out of an obligation to its shareholders.

No details are disclosed – but Blackberry has fought several disputes over patent rights and other intellectual property over the years.
