This is the final week of the Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership race. It will end on Saturday March 10th when the new leader is announced at a PC convention in Markham.

Over the weekend, some of the deadlines were extended. PC members now have until Wednesday at 8pm to register to vote and noon on Friday to take part in online voting.

The four candidates have been busy campaigning – former PC MPP Christine Elliot, Toronto lawyer Caroline Mulroney, anti sex-ed advocate Tanya Granic Allen and former Toronto city councillor Doug Ford.

The winner succeeds Patrick Brown, who abruptly stepped down in late January amid sexual misconduct allegations which he continues to fight. Naming of the next PC leader also begins the provincial election campaign when the winner comepetes with Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne and NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.
