The federal government says it’s looking to settle three proposed class-action lawsuits filed by former members of the military.

Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan says the plaintiffs in the proposed lawsuits have agreed to suspend their litigation.

He says the government will drop its efforts to quash the cases – and will instead seek to resolve matters – out of court.

Two of the proposed suits were over alleged sexual assault and harassment –  while the third was related to alleged racial discrimination.
