A woman, believed to be in her 70s, is the latest pedestrian to be killed on city streets.
Police Cst. Clint Stibbe says she was crossing Finch at Pearldale Avenue, east of Islington, when she was struck by a van turning left onto Finch.
The officer recently told Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with Libby Znaimer, most crashes happen this way.
”Left turn at an intersection’s number one. Mid-block crossing’s number two and a right-turn at an intersection is number three. Those are kind of the stats where we see the most collisions occur”.
There have now been nine traffic fatalities this year, including seven pedestrians – many of them seniors.
