Ontario’s minister of advanced education says helping college students resume their year following a five-week strike should be top priority – despite a charter challenge from the faculty’s union.

Mitzie Hunter wouldn’t comment on the Ontario Public Service Employees Union’s challenge of back-to-work legislation – brought in by the government.

But Don Sinclair, who is C-E-O of the College Employer Council, says the group appreciates the efforts of the legislators who voted to end the labour dispute – allowing 500-thousand students to return to class.

OP-SEU President Warren “Smokey” Thomas says the back-to-work legislation violated workers’ rights.
