The Ontario government and Metrolinx have thwarted a cyberattack by North Korea.
A team of counter-hackers at the provincial transit agency was able to detect the malware attack last week – before any damage was done.
A report says the team was able to determine that the attack occurred in North Korea and was routed through a service in Russia – before being sent to Toronto and Metrolinx.
The Ontario transit agency says no customer information was breached – and systems that operate its buses and trains were not compromised.
