There’s only one Canadian city on the list of 20 e-commerce giant Amazon is considering for its second headquarters – Toronto.
More than 10 across Canada were among the 238 applications.
The other 19 on the short list:
Atlanta
Austin
Boston
Chicago
Columbus
Dallas
Denver
Indianapolis
Los Angeles
Miami
Montgomery County, Maryland
Nashville
Northern Virginia
New York City
Newark
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
Raleigh
Washington, D.C.
Amazon says it will now take a ”deeper dive” into the proposals of the remaining cities in the coming months.
A final decision’s expected later this year.
Amazon plans to spend over $5-billion on its second headquarters, which will be a ”full equal” to its current headquarters in Seattle, and create 50,000 jobs.
