Friends and acquaintances of the billionaire philanthropist couple, Barry and Honey Sherman, are leaving messages on a condolence page set up on the website of the United Jewish Appeal Federation of Greater Toronto.
Mourners recall the generosity of the couple, who for decades supported various charitable causes, especially in health care and within the Jewish community.
The Benjamin Park Memorial Chapel says their funeral will be held Thursday at 11am at the International Centre in Mississauga.
Security expert and former police officer Ross McLean told Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with guest host Jane Brown, when there’s not much official information, that’s when speculation and rumours start.
”I think that there’s an issue somewhere struggling between privacy and the public’s right-to-know and what police feel confident in saying, so it’s leaving a vacuum for just so many people who really out of care rather than out of morbid curiosity I think would like to know what happened to them”.
Autopsy results show the couple died from ”ligature neck compression”.
Homicide detectives are treating their deaths as suspicious.
The bodies were found inside their home last Friday.
