Markle, an American divorcee, says ”as naive as it sounds” she had no idea how intense the interest in their relationship would be.

She says the couple faced ”a lot of mistruths” and she quickly decided not to pay attention to media reports about them.

Harry and Markle met in London in July 2016 ”through friends”.

They were not seen together publicly until the Invictus Games in Toronto back in September.

Markle’s acting career includes the TV legal drama ‘Suits’ which is filmed in Toronto.
