The trial of two senior Dalton McGuinty aides, charged with deleting computer files related to the 2011 gas plant scandal, is now in the hands of the judge. The defense and the crown gave closing arguments yesterday in a Toronto Courtroom.
David Livingston and Laura Miller have pleaded not guilty. They maintain that they only deleted files relating to staff that were leaving the Premiers Office in order to get rid of personal information as well as some Liberal Party documents.
But the crown argued that it makes little sense to use the “nuclear option” to wipe a few personal documents .
The judge is expected to rule on the case in January.
