The Trudeau government’s doing more for the Rohingya refugee crisis, announcing it would match every eligible donation Canadians made to registered charities from August 25 to November 28.

Minister of International Development Marie-Claude Bibeau says she knows Canadians want to help with the crisis.
”The needs on the ground are huge, particularly for women and children who represent 70 percent of new refugees since August”.
She adds Bangladesh is now home to the world’s largest refugee camp with over 900,000 Rohingya and other minorities driven out of Myanmar by ethnic cleansing.
Canada’s committed over $25-million in humanitarian assistance funding for Bangladesh and Myanmar so far this year.
Former Ontario premier Bob Rae, recently appointed special envoy to Myanmar by the prime minister, is heading there this week.
