Cities across North America have until this afternoon to bid to land Amazon’s second Headquarters with Toronto squarely in the mix.
Toronto’s bid to secure the facility went in Wednesday.  It is expected to generate tens of thousands of jobs, billions of dollars in investments and potentially massive spinoffs.
Toronto Mayor John Tory says the entire GTA was in on the bid and he thinks the GTA is the obvious choice.  Amazon is looking for a large educated workforce and the presence and support of a diverse population, excellent institutions of higher education, local government structure and elected officials eager and willing to work with the company.

Amazon is expected to invest more than $5 billion and grow its second headquarters to include as many as 50-thousand high-paying jobs. The company aims to duplicate it’s urban campus in Seattle which houses 33 buildings, measures 8.1 million square feet and boasts 24 restaurants and cafes.

Bloomburg Business Newes says while every major city in North America wants this, Amazon’s real options are Toronto, Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Dallas and Denver.
