Advocates for people with disabilities are welcoming some major changes the province has made – to programs offering financial support and medical coverage to disabled Ontarians.
Starting today, some of the tight rules governing the Ontario Disability Support Program and Ontario Works are being loosened.
One change of note allows people to have a higher amount of money as assets or savings – before their benefits are clawed back.
Kyle Vose from the O-D-S-P Action Coalition says the changes represent a necessary and welcome first step – to an overhaul of the program.
