The Prince Edward Island film “Bluefin” is attracting some attention in Europe.   After showing the documentary at film festivals around North America, filmmaker John Hopkins secured a distribution deal with a U.S.-based company and the film has now been nominated in the best documentary feature category at the largest independent film festival in the United Kingdom…

“Bluefin” is a tale of epic stakes set in the tuna capital of the world, North Lake, Prince Edward Island.  It explores why the normally wary fish are so starving and so abundant, they will literally eat out of your hand.  That flies in the face of scientific assessments claiming the endangered stocks are down by 90 percent.
The film will feature at the Raindance Film Festival in London, which opens September 20th and attracks some 16,000 people.
