The calls for Donald Trump to resign are growing louder across party lines as politicians continue to react to the U.S. President’s statements on Confederate memorials.
Ternnesee Republican Senator Bob Corker is among those denouncing the president, saying Trump has not shown the stability or competence that he must and that changes have to happen at the White House.
Trump took to twitter yesterday to bemoan the rising efforts to remove monuments to Confederate icons as an attack on America’s “history and culture.”
That was enough for Tennessee Democratic House Member Steve Cohen who plans to introduce a motion to begin impeachment proceedings.
This is all occurring as one of two Virginia state troopers who died in a helicopter crash while monitoring that white supremacist rally in Charlottesville last weekend is laid to rest today.  The other officer will be buried tomorrow.
