There is a big piece of the mixed histories of Canada and the United Kingdom that has gone on exhibition at The National Maritime Museum London.
It contains never before displayed artifacts from HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, the ships involved in the Franklin expedition to find the north west passage in 1845.
The wreckage of the Terror was found just last year.  The Erebus was found in 2014.
The expedition led by Sir John Franklin left England with 129 men to search for a northern sea route to the Pacific.  No one ever returned.  Search missions determined that both ships became icebound and were abandoned.
The exhibition will remain on display in the British capital until early January.  Next March it makes its debut at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec.
