B’Nai Brith Canada is demanding the Ontario Ministry of Education issue both an apology and a corrected version of a Grade 6 Social Studies textbook that falsely accuses Israel of using “child soldiers”.

A release from B’Nai Brith Canada, which calls itself the proud voice of grassroots Canadian Jewry, says 800 elementary schools in Ontario have received the textbook.

It goes on to say hundreds of Ontario schools continue to promote the dangerous falsehoods presented in this textbook which also charges Israel with “kidnapping” child soldiers and “forcing” them to fight.

The textbook’s publisher Nelson Education has apologized for the errors and issued a recall to the affect schools.

But because it’s up to individual schools to request the corrected version of the textbook, B’Nai Brith is calling on the ministry to address failures in its vetting process to ensure these inaccuracies are corrected before the coming school year begins.

Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer is looking for reaction from the Ministry of Education when the topic is discussed after the noon news.
