Just as the Canada Day long weekend is about to kick off health officials are advising you take precautions against ticks.  They say the tick population is increasing in southern Ontario and the blood suckers spread lime disease which can be fatal.
The problem is particularly bad in the Niagara Region but ticks have also been found in Toronto city parks.
Before venturing out to enjoy Canada’s great outdoors this weekend you’re advised to spray down with DEET Bug repellent, wear long pants and a long sleeved shirt and before you head inside pat you-self down including clothes and skin.
