The American Heart Association is warning you not to use coconut oil, which has become widely popular and sometimes is used in place of other oils.

Researchers now say they don’t see any health benefits in using coconut oil.
Turns out it’s very high in saturated fats (82% of coconut oil is saturated) compared with olive oil (14%) and canola oil (7%).
The American Heart Association reviewed existing data and found that in seven of eight studies, coconut oil actually increased LDL cholesterol – the bad cholesterol, which is a cause of cardiovascular disease.
The findings led the report’s author, Frank Sacks, to say ”You can put it on your body, but don’t put it in our body.”
One benefit the study found about coconut oil is that it’s quite good for hair and skin care.
