One day you may not have to go to a Service Ontario centre to renew your health card.
The Wynne government’s thinking about allowing you to do so online.
The Ministry of Health’s posted a notice online asking for public input, until June 5, on a regulatory change that would make it possible for the government to develop a new online option for health card renewals.
Currently, an appointment can be booked ahead of time online, but most must still visit a Service Ontario centre, with the exception of children younger than 15-and-a-half-years of age and most seniors over 80, who can renew their cards through the mail.
Proof of identity and residency are required.
No word yet of when an  online renewal process might become available.
