Municipalities in Ontario will have more power over building their communities – after major changes being proposed by the provincial government.
Municipal Affairs Minister Bill Mauro says legislation soon to be introduced will replace the Ontario Municipal Board with the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal.
Mauro says if the reforms pass – there would be fewer and shorter hearings over planning and development matters – and a more efficient decision-making process.
