MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE LAID IN DEATH OF 90-YEAR-OLD HOSPITAL RESIDENT

Toronto police have upgraded a charge against a man accused of attacking an elderly resident at a hospital in the Broadview Avenue -Gerrard Street neighbourhood.
Investigators say it happened February 26, when a man at Bridgepoint Health pushed another resident, who fell to the floor, striking her head.
90-year-old Catherine McNamee died about a week later.
68-year-old Terry Shorter was initially charged with assault but that’s since been upgraded to manslaughter.
