A 220-year old parchment copy of the U.S. Declaration of Independence has been unearthed in Chichester, England.
Two Harvard researchers, who have dated the document to the 1780s, found it inside the West Sussex Record Office.

The original copy, which dates from 1776, has been housed in the National Archives in Washington, alongside the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, since 1952.The researchers think the parchment copy was produced in Philadelphia or New York and believe it was originally held by Third Duke of Richmond, Charles Lennox, an 18th century British politician known for his support for the Colonies, during the American Revolution.
