After promising for years to never work again at the BBC, comedic genius John Cleese appears to have changed his mind.

The 77-year-old will appear in a new sitcom 40-years after the series that made him a comic legend.

Cleese starred with Connie Booth and Pruella Scales in Fawlty Towers whose 12 episodes were shot between 1975 and 1979.

In the new series Cleese will play one half of two old flames whose rekindled romance hits the skids when his girl friend’s 50-year old son moves back in.
