Karim Baratov was arrested last month and American authorities allege the 22-year-old poses a flight risk, in part because of his alleged ties to Russian intelligence agents.
The father told the hearing he and his wife are prepared to do whatever the court asks if their son is released from custody.
In a sworn affidavit filed before the hearing, Baratov said his parents are willing to ”propose a large sum of money” to secure his release.
If convicted in the U.S., he faces up to 20 years in prison.
