If the Hockey Hall of Fame is somewhere you and the family are thinking of visiting for March break, you’ll be greeted by a new permanent statue of an icon.
Gordie Howe sons, Mark and Marty, and Hall of Fame Chair Lanny McDonald were on hand for the unveiling of the statue Friday, which is located at the entrance to the hall.

Mr. Hockey played 26 seasons in the NHL and spent six in the now defunct World Hockey Association, retiring at the age of 52.

He played with his sons with both the WHA’s Houston Aeros and NHL’s Hartford Whalers.

Gordie Howe died last June at the age of 88.
