Today is U.S. President Barack Obama’s last full day in the White House before Donald Trump takes over tomorrow at noon.
Obama’s schedule has been left mostly empty for his final day, so he can use the time to pack. The only events on his public calendar are his presidential daily briefing and his final weekly lunch with Vice-President Joe Biden.
During his final news conference yesterday, Obama spoke about his future.
“It’s important for me to take some time, to process this amazing experience that we’ve gone through to make sure that my wife, with whom I will be celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary this year is willing to re-up and put up with me a little bit longer. I want to do some writing, I want to be quiet a little bit and not hear myself talk so much,” Obama explained to reporters.
In what may be his last act as U.S. president, Obama is planning today to grant one final round of clemency.
