Anyone who took in The Tragically Hip’s farewell tour earlier this summer, can’t help but remember frontman Gord Downie’s metallic suits.

There were a total of seven outfits, each named after someone who he considered instrumental in helping him prepare for the tour.

Designer Izzy Camilleri says there was extra material, meant for minor repairs and alterations, but after the final concert in the band’s hometown of Kingston, she decided to hang onto the leather.

Now scraps of the material were used to make 1,000 key chains shaped like guitars and embossed with courageforgord.

They’ll sell for $25 each on the website CourageForGord.org.

Two custom leather jackets will also be up for auction on the website starting tomorrow.

One’s metallic silver, men’s large … the other’s a metallic pink in a women’s medium.

Camilleri’s hoping to raise $25,000 from the key chains and jackets.

Proceeds will go to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at Toronto’s Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
