It’s looking more and more like A-list stars are planning to take a pass on Donald Trump’s inauguration.
When Barack Obama was inaugurated, he was serenaded by Zoomer legend Aretha Franklin and during his stay in the White House he had audiences with the likes of James Taylor.
But, according to the news website “The Wrap”, Trump’s inaugural committee is scrambling to find anyone.
The die may have been cast last month when a member of Trump’s transition team told the BBC that Elton John was aboard for an inaugural performance. Shortly after that, Elton’s people made it clear that the “Rocket Man” would not be participating.
Grammy-winner John Legend says he understands the problem. He says creative people tend be liberal-minded and when they see someone preaching division, hate and bigotry, they’re highly unlikely to associate with that person.
