Markets in North America moved upward as the U-S Federal Reserve strongly hinted that an interest rate hike is likely next month.
U-S Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen says an improving American economy has strengthened the case for raising interest rates.
She told Congress the U-S job market has made further improvement this year – and inflation has started to pick up.
Yellen also said she intends to stay on as Fed chair – until her term ends in January of 2018.
