The prime minister has officially re-opened the former Veteran Affairs office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, which was closed by the previous government as a cost-saving measure, along with several others across Canada.
At a ceremony in Sydney, Trudeau vowed all the country’s veterans offices will be properly staffed and wait times will be lowered.
He says the Harper Tories had lost sight of what’s important.
”Veterans deserve a level of service and the fact that the (Harper) Conservatives cut those veterans service offices was a real shame and indicative of a party that had lost its connection with Canadians.”
