He’s known for his charitable work and maybe more so for one of his biggest songs, and now Manitoba’s named a stretch of a northern highway in Tom Cochrane’s honour.

The 322-kilometre section of Highway 391 leads to his hometown of Lynn Lake and will be called ”Tom Cochrane’s Life Is A Highway”.
The 63-year-old Cochrane says he’s humbled, adding Manitoba’s spawned some great names in pop music and he’s honoured to be considered among them.
Performing since the 1970s, Cochrane made a name for himself with the 1991 pop single ”Life is a Highway,” from his album ‘Mad, Mad World,’ which was released 25 years ago.
In fact, Cochrane’s announced he’ll perform in Lynn Lake August 20, 2017 as part of his Mad, Mad World 25th anniversary tour.
