Duncan Haldane, David Thouless and Michael Kosterlitz were cited for revealing the secrets of exotic matter back in the late 1970s and early 1980s.  Their research opened the door to a previously unknown world where matter takes unusual states or phases.
Haldane is a 65-year old physics professor at Princeton University..  Thouless is 82.  Kosterlitz is 76.
They’ll share the $1.2 milllion prize.
