The mayors of Vancouver, Edmonton Calgary, Montreal. Mississauga, London and Ottawa are in Toronto to form a common front, urging the federal and provincial governments to do more on the social housing front.

Toronto s affordable housing wait list currently has 176,000 people on it, waiting for some 97,000 households.  In addition, the capital repair backlog for the Toronto Community Housing Corporation is pegged at $2.6 billion.  The Mayors are expected to demand that $20 billion of the money earmarked by the federal government for social infrastructure be dedicated to helping solve the housing crisis.
