Remember shortly after the first U.S. presidential face-off, Donald Trump complained about the quality of the microphone, saying it was ”very bad” and that he did not have the ”sniffles, no cold.”
The Commission on Presidential Debates has issued a statement saying ”There were issues regarding Donald Trump’s audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall,” at Hofstra University, but that it may have had something to do with how he was moving around the podium.
The Commission says it didn’t affect what viewers and listeners heard at home and that there are no plans on changing anything for the next debate.

A TIME reporter, who was the designated pool reporter in the hall, observed the audio volume as the Republican nominee spoke fluctuated, making him sound quieter on stage.
Hillary Clinton’s microphone did not have the same issue.
