Police in Manhattan have identified a man wanted for questioning in Saturday’s bombing that injured 29 people.
The NYPD tweeted this morning they are searching for 28-year-old Ahmad Khan Rahami, a naturalized American citizen from Afghanistan.
Authorities are looking into whether the explosion is linked to a second suspicious device found a few blocks away.
Investigators are also looking into the discovery of explosive devices in a backpack near a New Jersey train station yesterday, and a pipe bomb in Seaside Park, New Jersey that forced the cancellation of a charity run on the weekend.
Investigators in central Minnesota meantime, are looking into whether the stabbings of nine people at a mall Saturday night was an act of terror.
The suspect was killed by an off duty police officer, named Jason Falconer, and has been deemed a hero by the mayor of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
“As the suspect was lunging at him with a knife, not only did he fire, the suspect went down, he came back up on three different occasions. He protected others from being injured and potentially loss of live,” Mayor Dave Kleis explained at a news conference.
The Islamic State terror group has claimed responsibility, though it wasn’t immediately clear if ISIS had planned the attack or even knew about it beforehand.
