The Ontario Securities Commission has a new ‘Seniors Expert Advisory Committee’, whose mandate is to protect older investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices.
Among the 15 sitting on it will be the Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President of Advocacy for the Zoomers’ group CARP, Wanda Morris.
They’ll advise the OSC on securities-related policy and operational developments that impact older investors.
The members of the new committee will also provide input on the OSC’s related education and outreach activities.
This committee will meet approximately four to six times per year, with members serving one-year terms.
