Wine will hit some grocery stores the last Friday in October.

Winer Grocers

The Wynne government’s released the list of the first batch of up to 70 grocers that it’s allowing to sell wine.
They represent a mix of big and independent retailers, including Loblaws, Metro, Sobeys, Highland Farms and Farm Boy.
They were selected by a competitive bidding process held by the LCBO.
Beer was introduced in some grocery stores last December, resulting in net sales of about $24-million.
Beer and cider will eventually be sold in up to 450 grocery stores under the provincial government’s plan to liberalize alcohol sales.
Wine will be in up to 300 of those stores.
