Donald Trump has secured the Republican nomination in the race for the White House, after a roll call vote made it official at the party’s convention in Cleveland.

Trump welcomed the nomination last night in a video message, as his campaign faces more allegations of plagiarism.

Two passages of Melania Trump’s Monday night speech matched nearly word-for-word an address given by Michelle Obama at the 2008 Democratic convention.

Now it’s Trump’s son, Donald Jr., who’s accused of borrowing lines from an article in The American Conservative.

“He knows that at the heart of the American dream is the idea that whoever we are, wherever we’re from, we can get ahead, where everyone can prosper together,” said Donald Jr.

But the work’s author, F.H. Buckley, says he was a “principal speechwriter” for Trump Jr.’s remarks, so “it’s not an issue.”

The convention’s third day will see Trump’s running mate on the stage, as well as a former rival. Indiana Governor Mike Pence is already firmly committed to Trump, while Texas Senator and former Republican candidate Ted Cruz has been more hesitant to back the nominee.
