The battle is heating up between Walmart and Visa.

Three Walmart stores in Thunder Bay are declining Visa cards for payment – as the giant retailer continues its battle against Visa’s merchant fees.

Visa is firing back by encouraging customers shop at businesses in the city – that do accept the credit cards – but Walmart has promised to extend the Visa ban – to its 400 locations across Canada.

Walmart says credit card fees are too high in this country and it’s taking a stand for its customers – because high fees can result in increased prices.
