A ban on street hockey is being lifted and will be allowed on some city streets during certain times.

Toronto city council’s voted to amend the law to permit it between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m on streets where the posted speed limit’s 40 km/h or less.
The politicians say basketball can also be played on local roads so long as nets or other equipment are ”immediately removed” after playing.
City staff wanted council to keep the ban, citing safety and possible liability if anyone gets hurt or if private property’s damaged.
