Toronto’s Fringe Festival kicks off today with more than 160 productions on offer.
Honest Eds
As this is the last year the indie festival’s social club will be located in Honest Ed’s alley, the Fringe has dedicated its activities to Honest Eds, stressing the connection between the landmark department store and the festival’s committment to keep tickets “cheap cheap cheap.”
The standard fringe ticket is $12.00 but this year there is a discount booth at the festival box office with same day tickets on sale for $8.00.
The Honest Eds’ nostalgia will peak on July 9th when David Mirvish visits the Fringe Club to survey 1,000 paper turkeys upon which Fringers will be writing their favourite memories of the Bathurst and Bloor Days – to honour the 10.000 turkeys the store has given away over the years.
The Fringe Festival runs through July 10th.
