The update of the bar “Bible” is not merely a reissue but a celebration of all things imbibable and includes recipes like the original Manhattan, Ernest Hemingway’s favorite daiquiri, and the ” Cole Porter”, an enhanced whiskey sour named after the famous songwriter who lived at the Waldorf for 25 years.  Frank Sinatra kept a suite at the Waldorf in the 1980’s and would often pop up at the hotel’s chic Peacock Alley watering hole, where the Bar Book originated.  Other notables who’ve sipped the potent potables from the book include the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, General Douglas MacArthur and former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
