The novel “Alias Grace”, by Zoomer legend Margaret Atwood is becoming a miniseries.
Oscar nominated filmmaker Sarah Polley is writing and producing the six hour project which is scheduled to begin shooting in Ontario in August.
The novel was inspired by a real life murder case in Upper Canada involving an Irish immigrant named Grace Marks. She and her lover were convicted of murdering her employer and his housekeeper in 1843. Her lover was hanged. Marks was exonerated after serving 30 years in prison.
