Barack Obama formally backs Democrat Hillary Clinton to succeed him as U.S. president.
”I’m with her. I am fired up, and I cannot wait to get out there and campaign for Hillary,” he said in a video released by the Clinton campaign.
The endorsement came after the president met with her rival Senator Bernie Sanders, who emerged to say he’d work with Clinton to defeat the Republican’s presumptive nominee Donald Trump.
He also said he would stay in the race to compete in the final Democratic primary in Washington, D.C., June 14.
