Got a craving for some Caplansky’s?
It’ll have to wait as the College Street Deli’s closed – for now.
Zane Caplansky
Owner Zane Caplansky says he got a call from the alarm company Monday night and went to the store to find the locks being changed and a notice on the door that the lease was being terminated for ”failing to effect repairs not authorized by the landlord.”
”I don’t understand what he’s talking about and because he didn’t give me any notice, I’m at a complete loss to understand what he wants from me.”
Caplansky adds he pays his rent on time every month.
”This is not a rent issue.”
The popular deli opened at the corner of College Street and Brunswick Avenue seven years ago and has three years remaining on its lease.
Caplansky vows to take his landlord, Walter Kung, to court.
”We’re going to get before a judge.  We’re going to get an injunction and we’re going to get this thing fixed.”
